Question.. Will labels get pissed at you if you put up the full mastered versions of your tracks that have been released. Not for DL ofcourse but for promotion purposes.
Just thinking of putting my tracks on soundcloud but don't know if I should?

| if you can hear it , you can rip it. So ya , bad idea. highlight the good parts and give a mini version. |

Its not a matter of labels being pissed, you need to prevent someone from just recording the track period. If you look at my SoundCloud, all my tracks have the intro and outro faded at critical parts and all tracks are tagged with the word "preview", indicating that its only part of the track. You need to do this for ALL your tracks, not only on SoundCloud but MySpace and any other site where your music can be posted. Be smart about it and take the time to do it for each track. There are plenty of documented cases of people ripping tracks off of SoundCloud and other sites by simply recording the audio output. |

Ripping a soundcloud/youtube/myspace/et al stream? Sounds horrible. How can anyone actually enjoy that? |

The better question is how can anyone play it? The most common scenario is unscrupulous DJ's who rip the tracks from SoundCloud and play them out. |
