driving to the zaxby's in bankhead was enlightening.

I once knew the district manager of some zaxby's stores who pushed weight.

He went by the name Fat Sac.

I had a listen to this. The track selection was good. You can never go wrong with those names. Not any for me unknown tracks but still good ones.
The mixing however was average. Some really sloppy transitions (especially from that New Order track to Bullit).
But overall I liked the track selection and the flow. Good job.

Thanks for checking it out, hope it wasn't too painful. :)

I'm still really not all that tight in terms of mechanics on vinyl. I can beatmatch, and I can get it there, it just slips around a lot. Gotta work on that.

Secondly, if you are just playing around to get better at the skills of live DJing, is there something more adventurous to come?

Yes, I plan on it, I've just lost my way a bit I guess. Haven't really been feeling mixing as much this summer as I thought I would, and I feel really directionless in terms of finding and mixing new music, so a lot of that stuff has been put on hold as of late. I'm trying to get motivated again at the moment.

nice track-mixing. chunky bassline chuged along well. this one didn't feel like it had as much energy as the older ones, even though the progression was better. stay cooking.

flownominal! aka what's the track at 62min?

You need to work on your EQing. No outright trainwrecks, but the little errors you do make are exacerbated by very loud and obvious transitions. There was also quite a bit of distortion and tracks that were noticably louder than what had preceded them. I know when you're battling with the beatmatching it's hard to keep the levels smooth as well, but I have to say this was probably the worst EQing I've heard from you yet.

Apart from that, it was enjoyable. Good tunes and a nice flow. I think the highlight was the transition into Crystal: there was a perfect flow between those two tracks and the vocal came in at the perfect moment. Trouble is, this kind of prog is all about the long and smooth mixing.
