interesting... I don't like the tendancy towards samples though and also the incompleteness of their collections these days. I liked buying komplete 4 and knowing that it had ALL their products in it. I don't like buying k7 and being expected to then also fork out for 70s drums, the other two basses, Session strings etc...
Also, whats with just throwing in a whole bunch of kore player libraries? I always liked the way that komplete was just about getting new programs while the presets came in seperate bundles.
I think NI needs to re examine their pricing structure and general business model, its falling apart. They should split komplete off into just the programs and bring back the old pro 53 and some other vintage style synths to include in it. Then they should package a kontakt package deal with all their kontakt instruments, and another package with sets of their kore stuff. And they should try and give discounts based on which products people already own. Anyone who's bought any of these samples packs is going to be furious. |

I hope I can upgrade from k5 to k7. Komplete 6 didn't offer me anything new that I need, but now k7 actually looks an upgrade that i could go for.
I have:
- Komplete 5
- Kore 1 & 2 (+ balinese gamelan and sax & brass)
- Maschine
- Reaktor electronic instruments 2 |

| Still no Kore software? That seems like it would make the most sense if NI really wanted to give the bundle a sense of Kompleteness. The Maschine software would be nice as well and I imagine that once people started using the Maschine and Kore interfaces, they'd be more likely to buy the hardware (assuming NI would make the Maschine hardware available separately, as the Kore 2 unit is). |

Yeah, its ridiculous marketing a package as "komplete" without even giving you the full version of one of the hosts (kore) needed for the presets included with the komplete package:conf: ed up marketing IMO.
Oh well, I'm sure anyone who buys it will still get an awesome collection of sounds, at least they've put the akoustik and elektric piano content back in. |

I was actually going to buy Komplete 6 today and considering I found out ten minutes ago that Komplete 7 is soon to be released, I'm glad I didn't.
The contents look pretty good. Certainly a lot more 'bang for your buck' than Komplete 6. |

Upgrade from 5 to 7 is not bad. It's only $229.

Yeah, that seems like it might be worthwhile to upgrade from K5 to K7 to get Kontakt 4, Absynth 5, etc. But, if you're one of those who already upgraded from K5 to K6, the upgrade kost is the same ($229) yet K7 doesn't really offer much that you don't already have, besides a LOT of kontent (i.e., soundpaks) and The Finger. I mean K5 owners already have Elektrik/Akoustik pianos (and the Elektrik samples were inkluded in Kontakt 4, so K6 owners have it), and Reaktor 5.5 is free for everyone who owns Reaktor 5 (i.e., K5 & K6 owners). So, it's really not that great a deal from that standpoint, not to mention that most of the soundpaks are geared toward more mainstream music. |

Yeah, having K6, it's not really much of an upgrade. I mean you get a few expansions I guess...
On the other hand, K5 owners should definitely take advantage of the upgrade :D |
