Converting .doc into HTML using Mac

What is the best way to do this?

I tried using "Save as HTML" in Word, but it screws up the formatting because the document was not produced using the Normal (Web) style.

through gmail if you have that
click view and then select plain html
the formatting won't be 100% the same but will be very close

You are going to run into issues no matter what.

IMO the best way to do it, would be to download and install a free HTML editor, and then copy and paste your work into it. Then format it as closely as possible to the original DOC.

It's annoying, I know.
