let me give you a subtle hint: have you ever seen the word cheese on a trance compilation album? needless to say an original artist album

I think most people would say that you're wrong. I'm not quite sure how to describe Cheese, but it's music with a simple melody that has a commercialized/pop music quality to it. (Think Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone, DJ Jean - The Launch). The synths just sound cheesy compared to other dance artist's. Most people are introduced to trance by cheese.

Anthems are songs which become quite popular in the community. Push - Universal Nation is an anthem, but definitely not cheesy. I think that some songs (Darude - Sandstorm) come to be dismissed as cheese when they become too popular of an anthem and start to appeal to non-tranceaddicts. (I'd say Sandstorm is not cheese, although it's melody is somewhat simplistic, it was spun by the world's best - PvD and Judge Jules. I'm not aware of them spinning Alice Deejay or DJ Jean.)

These topics are pretty subjective, so I'm sure other people will have a different take.

An anthem is a track that when you play, you will see everyone buzzing and singing it etc...

The Dairy Meister - Cheese

I think cheese is just a commercialized track that has high catchy synths(not sure what they are). For instance i'm listening to Labworks - Ibiza Sunrise and I think it's kinda cheesy.

see, the real question is, what is cheese? different things for different people, I know quite afew people that would consider the vast majority of trance cheese *shrug* although the comparison is alittle far fetched I would say the term 'cheese' is very compartible to the phrase 'rice' in the automotive world. Things that are VERY over done, and easy to do... I guess I dunno I try

Yeah.. i think alot of anthems can be cheesey -- but a lot of anthem's aren't. Of course an anthem to me is just a crowd pleaser or party tune. Everyone knows it or likes it, pretty much.

There's a track on Union Jack's first album - There Will be no Armageddon - called "Fromage Frais".
