Hi computer geeks, I have a few questions:

1.) How do I change the password for the black screen with the blue box that says PASSWORD?

2.) How can I disable that so that it doesn't pop up every time I turn my laptop on?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 running Win7.

Thanks :)

Haha YES!

I mean it's not a problem it's just a glitch that stayed from the last time :p I never did anything but now it's just annoying.. I was gona text you but I didn't want you to think I was just USING you for your computer skillz ahhaha

Right Click on "Computer", Click "Manage".

A two-pane window should pull up. In the Left Pane, look for: "Local Users and Groups", expand that. Two folders should be visible underneath , click on the "Users" folder.

In the right pane, all the accounts should become visible. Find your account, and right click on it. Click Properties, and in there you should have the option to disable the password.

I'm recalling this off the top of my head, so this may be slightly incorrect. You may also have to do this as the administrator.

After I'm in Computer Management I only see
System Tools
Storage
Services and Applications

Go to control panel, click on users. Then do what cmay119 said. You might also need to delete other users from your computer or it may prompt you each time you boot up. Then, post a pic of your cans.

Actually I think it's the bios password.

-I want to change the password.

-I want to disable it.

where is a facepalm image when we need one? j/k :p

reboot your computer, and start hitting either one of these keys { ESC, F1, F12 } before or after you enter your password. It should pull up a screen with a whole bunch of stuff. there you can change or disable the password.

page 150 of your manual will tell you how to do it

(google told me that)

smash f2, f10, del, f12 at the startup when you turn your laptop on (go into setup - i dont know what the key is but those are common ones)

i also have a satellite a505 with win7 (it's the one with the i7) but i've never encountered a situation where the bios asks to input the bios password? it just.. boots. lol
