Summer Requiem by TenTwo

Not really sure how I feel about this track yet. It's a little short, but I figure if I get more ideas sometime in the future I'll work on it again and make it more complex.

Not sure whether to call it trance or chill. Just a creation that cropped up while trying to pass time with cubase.

Enjoy!

Note: I uploaded at a lower quality for the sake of file size.

Interesting idea

I think it's probably worth experimenting with cutoff automation on both the lead and the bass parts to add some extra movement as the track progresses, although not a huge amount.

It might also be worth using a snare or clap (subtle) after the little break, and maybe something like a conga style hit coming in and out as well to spice up the groove.

Keep us updated how this one progresses :)

Ill have to mess around with the channels and work somin out with the percussion. I've got a delay running ontop of the alt. percussion. May just add a second instance of battery or something for the clap and whatever else. This whole thing is a pretty large experiment for me. I completely didn't even realize I hadn't used a clap.

As for the idea of cutoff automation...hmmmm *starts playing with knobs*

The mixing still needs tweaking to some parts arent coming out the way id like.

I'm really trying to figure out how to tweak all the parts I have before I consider extending it. So any suggestions/thoughts would be great, outside input always adds a nice extra touch to music.

1 - 1.30 minutes I like the track but when you introduce the other high octave, higher pitched elements my ears start to burn a little.

Track is an interesting idea but I don't think there is a main "picture" if that makes sense. Sounds very live, which is a good thing at times but I feel with a direction and some more melody this would be alot better.

Yeah I get what you mean. The whole thing has felt like a very disorganized project may just scrap it and start on something else.
