| i'm not big on cats and i can't stand the fact that most of the intarwebs is fond of cats. i do know why though, reason being that most of anynomous and 4chan and all that evil have cats as pets because taking care of cats isn't like taking care of dogs. dogs need more care than cats and most of these mother****** couldn't care of a cockroach let alone a dog. felines in general are ing awesome though. |

| That's why you get a cat that acts like a dog. Mine never acted like a pompous toad. If I sat on the couch to watch tv, as if on cue, there is he was trying to snuggle up to me. Was never afraid of strangers. The more attached to you they are, the better. Also, big cats tend to be friendlier. Like the American Short-hair Tabby. Those were bred specifically for their friendly temperament. |

| I never understood the whole "cats are cold" theory. My cats have always been warm and affectionate. |

| It's because they're rarely as affectionate as dogs. Dogs evolved from wolves, which are pack animals: they bond naturally and closely to family members. Wild cats are solitary predators, and so domestic cats retain a lot of those instincts. |

| Besides, dogs howl. That makes them cooler by default  |

Yup. This statement usually comes from people who are cold themselves, or expect to be treated like some sort of royalty because they're used to being around dogs. |

fine then; i'll just hang with the doggies and you guys that love cats so much can hang with them. watch what happens if your apartment or house ever catches fire, then see if your cats even bother to try and wake you up to save you. dogs will try their utmost to do so and will probably even die with you if you can't get out. |

I bet the cat would pwn the dog in that situation. |

I'm allergic to most cats, but I do like them. My roommate had a really badass cat who liked to hang out in my room a lot, and that was pretty cool. Cats that tend to do a lot of swiping and hissing put me off a bit. I seem to elicit this reaction from them as well, even if I do nothing. The same thing happens with my dad. I have no idea.
Dogs are really my thing. Chilling with my roommates Siberian Husky at the moment, and she is so fly. I'd really like a German Shepard once I finish up school and have more time to actually care for one. |
