July's Episode of Amidst Rhythm / The GetDown Podcast, brought out two main genres that have an twist of summer at Ibiza. In the first half we start of with some progressive house, two of which come from the Structures compilation out on Bedrock. Booka Shade also throws yet another polished track with Teenage Spaceman. Infinity by Matthias Meyer bangs out the Souls of Mischief anthem that everyone knows screams out for relaxing on sunny days. I'm a big fan all around of Sander van Doorn, always there to have a great time, Hymn 2.0 touches into the trance genre a bit but is overall just a great track that brings in unique elements. The second hour shifts into more big room / peak hour vocal tech-house. Mark Knight and Wolfgang Gartner have been holding onto the top of the charts with Conscindo and its easy to see why. When I started dj'ing years back I use to always jump at an Angel Alanis vinyl release, "Do You Like the Way You Feel When You Shake" is a classic that can usually get a big of time in Carl Cox's sets for its jumpy looped party feel. Must have been feeling a bit in the mood for classics... Love Story... Can almost see the sun setting with the track playing. I ending up going out on a fairly techy feel well fitting for the wee hours of the night I finished up the mix in.
