WOW! Well at least you defended your reason for saying " CHUCK", and pretty well I might add too, props for that... and if that did happen, I would be pissed off to! But I guess that is the nature of the game as you said in the Fluid instance you brought up... (LMAO @ your dot not feather reference bahahaha)
Kudos on actually spending the time to write out your retort and defense in advance... very proactive. Most don't bother to defend their statements till they are called out by the rest of forum... |

As well written as that rant was, it's still stupid. And that'll be my entire response...

Dear FunkyCrew,
Thank you for your feedback. Further to your question, I have looked up my peculiar word in the Urban Dictionary, in hopes that there was a slang definition for "sort've" close enough to what I actually meant so I could demonstrate it. Unfortunately, I came up empty-handed. Therefore, I have chosen an alternative slang word in an effort to make my message better understood. Please see below for the revision. Please accept my apologies; in the future I will do my due diligence to avoid such slurs/contractions and have LKD proof-read all of my posts before making them public on tranceaddict.com.
Warm Regards,
goodnet

A buddy and I went to a Guv all-access event a few years ago. We got confused looking for the line by-pass, so he walks up to Charles (not knowing he's the Guv owner) who's standing by the main room entrance talking to the bouncers, and asks him really loud "HEY do U work here??". The look on Charles' face was kinda jokes, but he kindly pointed out where the by-pass lineup was. |

Chuck and all you nuthuggers. Well, maybe not the nuthuggers because I'm sure you have your reasons and I have nothing against you personally - that is until you start attacking me in this thread.
However, Chuck, you can suck my little 5"x5" Asian cock.
Awhile back I partied at the Guv almost every weekend during one particular summer and although I came from a very different scene I was having a good time. This was after the eras of Industry, System Soundbar, before Footwork, and I wanted something different from all the deep house parties that were the only thing going on at that time. I even started to develop an appreciation for trance at this club which I always hated since my first Destiny party way back when. But, most of all I began to discover how good a DJ Mark Oliver really is and I loved that time in my life.
Of course, it all had to end just like everything in life. On one particular Saturday I approached the club entrance sometime after last call and there was no line. However, one of the bouncers - an Asian dude no less, tells me they're not letting anybody in at this time. That's cool - I guess I should've got there earlier.
However, just as I'm about to leave and think about what else is going on I noticed a couple of guys go in to the line and the bouncer let them in no problem. So I look around and notice Chuck standing around and I approached him. I asked him what's up and if I could go in and he actually replied "Well, there's too many single Asian guys here tonight". WTF? Like your club doesn't make the truckload of cash it does every weekend from my brethren. Like if I don't walk in to this club right now and look at the east side from north to south half of Chinatown and Markham aren't partying in your club? I say again, WTF?
When I replay this moment in my mind I wish I did say that to him, but being the guy that just wants to party I went a different route. I chatted him up about his wife Libby and how I knew her from school and although I wouldn't say she was a friend we were friendly and I asked about her. After a few minutes of this HRH allowed me to grace the presence of his castle with my lowly, yellow nig*er self.
You - the reader - may ask why all this hate if I just went in and partied anyway and had a good time regardless. Well, I like to party and sometimes the reason is to get away from this kind of bull and all the other crap that falls on us in life. Getting high and dancing is the euphoric mind and body release that keeps alot of us going sometimes. And, I just like to party.
With all that said there is no doubt Chuck is a great entrepeneur and more successful than I can ever dream to be, but I still think he's a nut for doing what he did that night. I'm sure he had his reasons and his defenders here will take a stab in this thread at what they might be, but if it isn't some revelation on the level of a life changing acid trip I'll always have a bad taste in my mouth whenever I hear or see his name. After that night I've never set foot in the Guvernment or any other of his properties - not that I'd want to anyway. It's just personal.
On another note, I recall being in line at Fluid around this time - I used to party with a crew that liked to do the top 40 clubs where we had connects after which I would go afterhours by myself and it included a mulatto, Indian (dot, not feather), and another Asian - and a similar, but different situation came up. The line was small and a group of about 10 Asian guys and girls walked by and went back to the end of the line. Immediately the door man told the group that it was a private party tonight and they'd have to go somewhere else.
You might think this would offend me on the same principle I have a hate on for Chuck, but I'll tell you why this situation was acceptable in my view. Every club has a right to decide who they want as patrons because this will help define the place. At the time Fluid on Saturdays was your typical top 40 club mix of mostly white 19-25ers who like to play dress up on weekends with some color thrown in here and there. In the grand scheme of things 10 Asians probably wouldn't have upset the balance too much, but these 10 Asians would probably stick to themselves in the club and create a mini Chinatown and while in line people walking by would probably think it's Asian night tonight at Fluid. Hence, this was more than acceptable. If the Asians really wanted to get in then they should have broken themselves up into pairs and staggered their entrances. But, who are we kidding they weren't missing out on anything and that noise - just go somewhere you're welcome like....
The Guvernment. Chuck, if you really don't like Asians and begrudgingly accept them because it's the only way you can fill such a huge space then promote to some other group that will come in numbers like your Middle Eastern brothers or all the folk in North Toronto if you're still obsessed with being accepted by the WASP establishment. You may get alot of accolades in this thread, but know you have at least one detractor who thinks you're a prick. Cheers. |
lol. thats charles' sense of humour for you. he likes to say things to see what kind of reaction he can get from people.
i remember the first time i met him. it was manzone&strong and myself. charles was standing outside of This Is London and either joe or fab introduce me to charles by saying "charles, this is our photographer jay". charles looks at me and says "well you could've picked a better looking one". lol and here i am now working for the man. |
