and the thing is, I've closed all the sequences and tried it, I tried lowering the audio playback channels, nodda. And I've only got 2 video clips and one audio clip on my canvas to begin with.
so does anyone know FCP well enough to help me out? that'd be great. thaaanks

This error usually means your computer is too slow to display the playback. Multiple video channels add to this complexity and so does highly compressed formats such as HDV.
A few things you can try are:
1. turn unlimited off like it said.
2. use a less compressed format for HD
3. render before playing.
4. don't use whatever filter or text effect thats causing the problem.
5. delete the preference and/or reinstall from scratch.
6. make sure your hard drive isn't full.
7. buy a new computer.
*edit: could also be as simple as unchecking "Report Drop frames during playback" in the User Preferences.

Written Fall 05, directed and produced spring 06. Then I met with Pat Moxey, moved to NY, was recording with someone else, but the TA's of NY were a far more appealing bunch than the rappers and G's. But now it comes full circle, as that folder of rhymes will now be used for dubstep.
oh yeah.. thanks for the help with Final Cut lol

Yeah, you probably should have just posted the error message. That Nas album looks pirated.
