Hey fellow trance addicts,

I just made my first mix on virtual dj (yes, i know...) and I was just wondering if anyone had a spare few minutes if they could give it a listen and tell me what they think :)

Some constructive criticism would be nice and REALLY appreciated.

Here is the think: http://soundcloud.com/u4eeya/trance-mix-1-u4eeya

Thanks everyone.

Well let's see what is good and what is bad.

+: The start of ur set. it's a good idea to start on a big break like this.

-: The tracks doesn't really fit together ( with some practise u will learn what mix in key is but right now it's really to soon).

-: Mixing 2 tracks together mean putting them loud (more or less) in the same time, but not slowing down the volume until u can hardly heard the first one to introduce the second one lol.

-: But the biggest problem is what ur working on: Virtaul dj. I still don't get the pleasure u can have in mixing on that since all track are beatmatch by clicking on a touch. Honestly i am just ing bored with "tracktor dj" who never learn to beatmatch with their ears and believe they are talented... But when u start and have no money i completely understand.

So to be honest, as a dj set, it's a disaster; but as a first djset, it's ok.

So my advice: Work on transition, listen some dj set like tatw asot. I post mine yesterday on this forum ( but i am a dj for 4 years now ), and try to invest in real device like cdj pioneer.

Cheers !

Errmm, no...
Listen to LIVEsets from gigs, no radioshows! Radioshows are usually pre-recorded in Ableton (or similar). Live performances therefor show you, what a DJ can do, radioshows instead are at maximum useful for discovering new tracks.

Thanks a lot for all the advice guys, I completely agree with everything, been playing around a bit more and slowly getting better. Dont worry, I too hate virtual dj with a passion but gotta start somewhere and not ready to fork out any money yet.

Will work on what you said Tracider :)
