Read the manual nobody is going to hold your hand through this process.

Learn to listen to a song, I mean really listen to a song. A basic understanding of synthesis will help alot when trying to reproduce a certain sound. Same thing goes with FX, the more you understand the more you can tell what is going on in other peoples music.

Time and practice, time and practice...

Absolutely. And, having 3 or 4 Viruses will ensure you AVB status. ;) [/sarcasm]

There are lots of great plugins out there for trance. Some of the more popular ones:

- reFX Nexus
- Lennard Digital Sylenth1
- Waldorf Largo
- Spectrasonics Omnisphere
- Native Instruments Massive and FM8
- Rob Papen Predator, Albino 3, and Blue
- FXpansion DCAM SynthSquad

That's just a small sampling of excellent synths for EDM - there are dozens of others out there that are equally up to the task. As others have said, it's not so much what you have - it's how you use it.

hjust give up, quit. Big Trance involves BIg Cash. If you don't have it then don't do it. As regards to talent which is total bs.

talent ,creativity, some soul, some experience of course ,and just be unique ,a lot of people buy the virus so they could have that one sound everyone else has but imo you could create your own sound with absynth or reaktor or any vst if you know what your doing so practice makes perfect.

I can't help but feel that rokit is an alt trying to stir things up. They registered a couple of days ago and come up with "Do u really need virus ti to get really top sounding trance tunes on them big lables like vandit an armada/if not wat plugins will do the trick?" and "any comments on the wave lab bundle?". (I'm assuming Waves is meant).

It seems designed to start up a Virus/Waves flame war!
