Haha that's hilarious. Sometime during late May/Early June I drafted up a summery progressive trance mix and named it Lush as well. Never got around to mixing a version that was good enough to post here, though. Great track, too.

Yes, I saw it on your Last.fm feed and thought you'd stolen my idea, but nothing came of it. I've been working on this one since March at least. I really wanted to get the flow and mixing as perfect as possible.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying it.

Desert - Moods (Desert Dub)

loving this.

Smoothly sequenced and very tasty until We Came In Peace, but after that it just isn't varied enough to keep me interested. As much as I like this stuff, 2 hours of any one specific sub-genre almost always end up boring me (one of the reasons I rarely listen to mixes in general these days).

Unfortunately, Jack, I agree with this. I enjoyed the first hour, but after that, everything sorta ran together. The first part was very lush indeed, Ritual -> Raincry -> Sunstroke made me feel like I was next to a river on a beautiful spring day without a care in the world. Quite beautiful really. Sorry about not really liking the second half, it sounded good but couldn't keep my attention very well. Technically, this mix was pretty flawless. Flow was top notch, and mixing was very solid as well. Thanks for the music anyways.

jack, listened to this, nice stuff really but yeah, it sits weirdly. i know from looking at the tracklist that it's not really original, it just works because great tracks. the first section is predictable but awesome, i have nothing to complain about really as it is what it says on the tin.

second section well i have two things to talk about. first off it fuddles around right after "we came in peace" and for a couple of tracks it's just trying to find direction and it does eventually but it's a severe momentum/flow breaker. the second thing and you might now what it is about.

"ajare". this track, unless you can pull off a quick mix or work a looping device, flatlines a set. you might have used it for winding down, but i don't get that notion since you played another driver right after it and go build for more epic tunes.

yeah, it isn't your best set but it's a good effort none the less

I'm surprised about these comments. I know I've spent a lot of time working on this and when you're very close to a creative project you can no longer see it objectively, but I personally think the flow after We Came In Peace is perfect right through to the Drum Club track. I really love that whole section. If that's where people get bored and lose the flow then I really don't have any response.

Ajare is a tough track to programme with because it's five minutes of concentrated bang and then it just stops dead, but the whole point was to kick the mix up the arse, because after that the tempo and the energy starts rising rapidly.

So yeah... I'm pretty surprised, because usually I agree with criticisms people have about flow, and this time it's totally the opposite.

This burned out pretty quickly. 20 posts in a couple of days, and now nothing.

This is something I've been working on for aaaages. I remember JBJ and slijva (I think) discussing early 90s records from labels like Hardkiss, saying how they had a much more carefree and positive vibe than modern dance music. I've always really liked music from that period, particularly in summertime when I'd be out on long walks through the countryside.

This is basically a big two hour collation of all my favourites I've been listening to down the years. Although the tracklisting isn't terribly obscure, some of my biggest personal classics are here. Most of these tracks aren't very DJ friendly, but I tried to build a real set here. It starts off slow and chilled and builds all the way up to some PLUR trance. Best served with the great outdoors.

Thanks mate, I was just listening to God Within - Raincry...the other day, it has to be the best trance/breaks track I have ever heard and probably ever will hear.

Sublime stuff.

I'm not the best person to give technical feedback but I think the track selection is excellent. I don't see the stagnant second half the others do, and frankly I should for no reason other than 'Water from a Vine Leaf' and 'First Cool Hive' are in my top ten of any genre of music!

'Raincry' was a real flashback too...I knew I'd heard it somewhere and remember it was the incidental music on FIFA 99!

Keep up the good work! Love your mixes!
