BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP presents Three, Scuba vs SCB, Jennifer Cardini
Blkmarket Membership would like you to save the date for Saturday 14th August as we are very excited to announce one of the most talked about lineups this summer in New York.
Three (aka Chris Milo) is by far one of the best DJ's to emerge from the U.S scene. A long time friend and also a regular at Blkmarket Membership, his closing sets at our parties have been some of the most talked about. His 5 hour closing set at our Sasha event was the best set out of 2009 for us and many could agree the same. Whether it be playing with Sasha, back 2 back with Doc Martin, or evening tagging with Terry Francis, Three's sound spans across the board with some of the most cutting edge music out there. His label Hallucination LTD is just a peek at some of his armed weapons of choice. Three this time around will be playing one of the peak time slots, so get ready as we are about to embark on a very heady voyage...
When we first picked up Scuba's 'A Mutual Antipathy' album we knew right of the bat that this guy was bringing something new to the table. His new sound can be described as underwater soundscapes meets machinery. Since then, Paul Rose aka Scuba has been on fire. Label boss of one of the most in demand labels at the moment Hotflush, his mini album 'Aesaunic' in 2009 was just a taste of what was to come from him. Scuba soon released his new moniker Scuba vs SCB. In 2010 between hearing his Resident Advisor podcast, his mix cd on Ostgut Ton entitled Sub:stance, and his Triangulation album, we knew Scuba would be an amazing fit at Blkmarket Membership. His residency Sub:stance at Berghain Berlin has become a very talked about party in Berlin, and its here where Scuba developed his new moniker Scuba vs. SCB, fusing 4/4 techno with dubstep for one dark journey. We are very pleased and excited to have the Scuba vs SCB project make his debut at our party and in New York. Be sure to be on the look out for Scuba vs SCB exclusive mix and interview coming up on www.halcyonline.com next week.
Enter Jennifer Cardini. Jennifer Cardini has been on the back our minds since we first started buying her records, yet getting her a date to come and play in the U.S just wasn't possible. Her late night DJ sets are staples of the Parisian scene and we have been on the case for a few years now to bring her. The time now was right and its finally happening. Her releases such as 'Stay' and 'Tuesday Paranoia' were staples in our record boxes. With only a few production and remixes, Jennifer Cardini is know amongst her peers as an excellent DJ. Part of Ivan Smagghe's Kill the DJ label, her very few tracks & remixes have made their way also onto labels such as Mobilee, Crosstown Rebels and Dirt Crew. Do not miss out on her. This will be her New York Debut!
Along for the rider are the Blkmarket Membership residents, Taimur & Fahad. The Boys have had a massive year, bringing in the best of the best to play their ever growing party. Their mission from the get go has been, 'to bring in talent that inspires us as DJ's.' That simple policy has guided them and it's no wonder why their party is amongst the best in the U.S at the moment. Be it opening / closing their events, playing back 2 back sets with their guests or just laying it down at the afterhours, Taimur & Fahad have had the opportunity to be heard and have earned the respect of many who regard them as some of New York City's finest DJ's in the techno scene.
Last but not least, we have asked Halcyon's Nihal Ramchandani (latest addition to the family) to do the opening duties. Keep your eyes peeled on this young talent as we feel that he is one of the new good talents to emerge out of New York. Check out his recent mix that he did for Percussion Lab which is excellent.

Prob like $30 or something. Yeah Three is awesome but he's a regular. Scuba/SCB is the headliner. He spins at Berghain so apparently he's a big deal. |

Well that was fun :eyespop:
Scuba was sick
Three was sick (as usual)....I would love to have a tracklisting or recoding of his set, there was this darker driving techno track he played closer to the end of his set where I was like omggg
Left in the beginning of Jen Cardini's set and really didn't wanna cause she was ripping it. |
