Celebrating its 30th release, Silk Digital proudly presents another revival of a Stefan Anion classic, with acclaimed progressive house and breaks veterans Royal Sapien and Aeron Aether along for the ride as well (on remix detail). Strangers (Original Mix) is Anion at his best: brooding basslines, dark, cavernous textures, and pull-no-punches breaks. As the track progresses, haunting voices add even greater atmospheric depth, while penetrating arpeggios cut through the mix like piercing early-morning streams of light. Esteemed American artist and Olaris Records head honcho Royal Sapien serves up an inspired, multi-layered remix: he establishes an aggressive "classical" progressive rhythm and groove in the first half of the tune, with the furious arpeggios soaring above. In the break, all of these elements make way for an anthemic breakdown, in which the listener is treated to an awe-inspiring soundscape of voices, deep pads, filtered arp lines, and wind effects. Music experimentalist and Silk mainstay Aeron Aether offers a breaks alternative to the original with his stunning remix. A true producer's producer, Aeron demonstrates once again his ability to create intricate arrangements, with clean mixing and superior sound quality. In the main break, Aeron treats us to a yet another artist trademark: a beautiful symphony of strings, which weaves through the arpeggios in the second half of the tune to glorious effect.

Thanks, Zharen! I think you won't be disappointed by our release. It was already supported by Solarstone (Solaris International, episode 222) and Jaytech (Jaytech Music, episode 032) which is incredible: I haven't heard these two playing breaks in their shows before. |
