J.L. - Kensington [Soul/Breakbeat]

Was composing something for a short film and thought I'd do something a bit different from 4/4 EDM so here's my first track I've produced that's under 100 bpm =P. Although not really EDM, I'd thought I'd share if anyone's interested

First time recording an acoustic guitar solo so the quality/playing isn't great but I found it to work with the track quite nicely.

Please leave a comment about what you liked/disliked.

Have heard that chord progression a few times before :P

Percs are pretty sweet.

1:19 - Digging the piano jive.

1:30 - Not sure that synth quite fits...will wait to see what you do with it :)

2:00 - Synths still not fitting in imo.

2:22 - Nice groove. Guitar could stand out moar here I think, seeing as how it's the moving the line. Might go with a more classical guitar as well and take off that hint of "sitar". (worth a try anyway :))

3:46 - That synth still doesnt quite fit...It might fit better filtered down slightly, but it just sounds awkward and out of place to me.

I can totally see this working for a short film too. It's quite interesting musically and melodically.

Mixing is fairly good in my headphones except for that odd synth and guitar.

gl with this track m8, definitely groovin'.
