| Thanks, but eh w/e. People die, he was meant to go the way he did at that time. I always feel obligated to display sadness when people say sorry, and it makes me feel awkward because I don't really...and then I don't want to weird them out by not having a typical reaction. |

Yeah for sure, I get that. But, realistically, people expect you to be all torn up about it. And I feel just as stupid saying "thanks". Thanks?
I suppose the easy thing to do would be to fall in line with the socially accepted feelings/responses about death/loss...but I just can't. I don't like being false.
edit: my point is sort of shown in your initial use of the sad face when you gave me your condolences. :p |

| Furthermore, I also feel like saying "sorry" is comparable to asking someone how they're doing today, when meeting them in passing. It's just something people say out of habit more than anything. Sorry...what are you sorry for? It just doesn't seem like an appropriate response. My condolences is better, imo. "My condolences" and move on, lol. |
