i've kept peanut butter in the fridge waaaay longer than 2 months....

I grind my peanut butter fresh at whole foods. It's not sugary or salty or oily at all, with no preservatives, just pure ground up peanuts. Goes great on sammiches, nanners with honey, and other peanut butter related shenanigans. Wouldn't have it any other way.
