When I heard the initail synth pattern I thought it'd suit a breaks track, but I like what you've done with it so far. It may even benefit by a drop in bpm to groove it up a bit more, although there's nothing wrong with it as is.
For a change, I can hear a male vocal working well with this one.
No point on commenting on the mix at this stage.

That second track belongs in a hip movie where the impossibly good looking (and far too young to be qualified) cop is searching a murder scene, which in this case is a cheap motel and guessing every single thing that happened right.
