Tell your friend to stop. If he's using the one-pot method to cook meth, he's definitely not getting the high yields he'd be getting with a more traditional synthesis route.
Seriously, sorry you're watching the train-wreck in slow motion but your friend is ing a gorilla and he's not going to be done until the gorilla is done with him. Try to be there for the fall but DO NOT open yourself up for the junkie grifts where pity stories and a place to crash leave you with a lighter wallet and your walls gutted of copper wire. |

Hey,thanks for all of your suggestions & advice. Some of it definitely got me to consider some options I hadn't before.
I caught up with him today... seems he's already started using small amounts regularly (both snorting and cooking /inhaling). He showed me some of what he'd synthesized and, of course, offered me some. Glad to know I can turn it down without a second thought now.
He knows the extent of my drug history (pretty much everything), but sees that I'm okay now which probably doesn't help. I tried to drill the idea that this is not the way to go, and even detailed all of the awful side effects I experienced from prolonged use... essentially mild psychosis, coupled with relentless weight loss, teeth loss etc. I tried really going into detail but it didn't seem to phase him. He's still in the "honeymoon" phase, so to speak, and pretty much made it clear that nothing I said would dissuade him from continuing to make more.
Doesn't mean I'll give up trying. Seems like it's too early on and he hasn't felt enough of the negative effects to even take what I'm telling him seriously. Looks like I may have to watch the train wreck for a while. Again I appreciate all you guys' input, even the less serious stuff. I'll figure something out I hope.. |

He needs to hit rock bottom quick.
Quit enabling and call the authorities on him.
He will thank you in the future.
Which is the better than the alternative... death.:( |

If I would have seen this movie while I was on drugs I would have shot myself in the head.:( |

Knowing what's happening is one thing, convincing him of it is another.
Indeed i'd say just talk and tell him amphetamines are rubbish like that in that you never really get what you're looking for and you are just hopelessly chasing past experiences. As long as that's in the back of his head he might eventually come to his senses, as i did. But you can't really force it.
A temporary solution might be to tell him to seek elsewere. Maybe in XTC or psychadelics. Although it sounds like a thing to do, it actually worked wonders in my case as they really make you see that speed is useless and as a bonus those substances aren't nearly as addictive.
However, from reading your post it might already be too late, if he has a physical addiction that is. |
Some people I know swear by uppers (Meth,Crack,Crank,Pills for ADD)
To them it makes them feels like they are getting more done, especially artist types. I know a guy that will stay up for 3 days and go to work and paint and write music on his spare time. He doesn't like XTC or downers because he doesn't have that focus to concentrate. Just my 2 cents. Trust me I know all drugs are bad but so are cheeseburgers. Moderation is the key to everything and I think we all know that. I am kinda making it sound like if you haven't ever or won't ever do a hard drug or a Rx drug then your missing out on something and I'm sorry if it came of like that because I know people who don't even drink and they are smart and happy and artistic. |
