Quick question, taxi fee

Does anyone know how much I would pay in taxi fees from Greyhound bus central "port authority" to Laguardia airport at like 5-6am? Can I just catch a cab from the street or is it safer to call one? Anyone has a good cab company?

thanks

catch a cab on the street - no more then $20 me thinks if tell the yellow cab to take the 59th street bridge (versus the FDR / Triboro which is $5.50 additional).

Plenty of cabs infront of Port Authority

when I check on world taxi meter, it takes the bridge 495. Is it the one I should take, I am looking at google maps and I can't seem to find to one you suggest me to take..

495 is the LIE and there is a toll on that.

When you get in the cab just say this

i need to go to laguardia airport - please take the 59th street bridge

That bridge there is no toll on so you should not incur an additional fee.

The fare should be about $20-25 max.

Additional routes that do include an additional fee is for routes that take the FDR / Triboro Bridge or the Midtown Tunnel.

Those are the 3 viable routes, with 1 that does not require a toll.
FDR / Triboro Bridge
59th Street Bridge
Midtown Tunnel

Tips depend on service, if he is nice and gets you there on time a few extra bucks or whatever you can spare.

There isn't much traffic on Saturday mornings, its the afternoon you really need to watch out for, however in certain parts of New York there is ALWAYS traffic no matter what time lol :p

The only thing I'd venture to say is that this coming Saturday is the last Saturday for Summer Streets, it's a program designed for bikers, runners, skaters to cruise down Park Avenue on Saturday mornings from 7am-1pm. This coming Saturday the 21st is the last Saturday of this program so if your travels is after this weekend you should have little to worry about going from PT AUTH to LGA.

yea its around $25 bucks bc when id take the cab from the city back home, which btw i live like 5-10m away from LGA, it was like $30 w/ tip (if i remember)...during the time which youll be going in the morning isnt any traffic at all, best time to go as a matter of fact- ride wont take nomore then 20m

wait, did u say going to Colombia..ahhhh take me with you!!!!! lol

ps. this was a yr ago, prices may have varied slightly since but nothing drastic.

I just took a cab as well as shuttle/bus!!

Cab cost me 35 with tip bc there was traffic- honestly...prepare for traffic and be happy if you get lucky

Shuttle/Bus ran pretty regularly and came to 5.75 i think? 2.25 for bus and 3.50 for shuttle- i could be off i paid no attention at all i was in a rush.

It was less stressful taking the bus, tbh

What kind of shuttle did you take for 6 dollars? Mine is $12. it takes you from port authority to La Guardia or JFK.

Would it be safe to be in Port Authority station at 3am? and just wait for the first shuttle at 5:50? is there wireless over there or coffee shops opened 24H?
