I wrote the melody and chord progression for this song about 3 years ago. I think at least 3 or 4 other singers have taken a shot at writing lyrics for it, but none of them worked out until Aliciya got her hands on it. It's been retransformed countless times, from chillout to house to trance and everything in between, but I think we finally got it where we want it. Feels good to have that monkey off my back!

Fabulous fromage.
The arp work at the start is pretty neat. Like that! :)
Most definately too far towards cheesy pop for me to fall in love with but judging it on its own merits it's spot on. The pads/guitar hits every two bars work work particularly well.
A happy track indeed

Thanks Geoff - I appreciate the thoughtful comments and judging it on its own merits. :) I honestly don't expect it to be much of a hit on TA, but ya never know.
Oh, and BTW, those aren't "just" guitar hits - they're sidechained power chords dude! :D I have to say, I think I like that sound a lot and may have to use it in more songs from now on.
tehlord
Sorry boss....POWER chords!!! :D
btw - have you bought Orange Tree Strawberry Electric yet? Awwweeesome.
Back on topic.
It's definately a catchy number, although (and don't tell her) i'm no fan of Alicias voice. :clown:
Shame you couldn't get a nice crisp 'leccy lead guitar in there too!

Very pop, not my cup of tea buuuuut produced very well :) Sounds professional to me :)
EddieZilker
Very Gouda, indeed! :p
Did you run her vocals through some mild distortion? I really like the effect.
Again, have to note the production on this is top-notch polish.

Thanks guys! BTW, one of the biggest local radio stations here in Sacramento just got done playing this song!
@Geoff - she knows now. She reads the posts. That's OK, though, you can't please everybody, right? And, you probably just shot down any chance you'd ever get at dating her (she's single and looking). :p I don't have the Strawberry Guitars, but I do have the entire Pettinhouse and Indiginus collections, not to mention the Kontakt factory guitars, so I'm pretty good. The Strawberry Guitars do sound nice, though.
@Kevin - thanks! Pop is what we were shooting for, so that's good to hear!
@EZ - Thanks and, yeah, the vocals in the 1st verse break are slammed pretty hard with SoundToys Decapitator and the rest of the lead vox are lightly filtered and overdriven with SoundToys FilterFreak. I agree - it works well on vocals that have some edge to them, like Aliciya's (whose voice I happen to love, ahem...Geoff :p ).

Anyway she shouldn't (and I hope doesn't) take it personally. I also don't get on with J from TF's voice any more and I know you love it.
I also abhore mushrooms but love blue cheese.
cryophonik
Naw, she doesn't take it personally. Honesty is always better than having sunshine blown up our skirts, right? Not that I'm actually wearing a skirt (nor that I would tell anyone if I was...)

OK, I've been racking my brain for hours and have no idea who you're referring to. Maybe I'm just dim today (I am on vacation afterall, so thinking is not a requirement this week).
