Asher Roth - Grind
View this Thread in Original format
Dj Skez
This tracked was premiered on hot 97 radio station here in N.Y. He's was more of an underground white rapper who worked with kid cudi since he was mentioned on another thread. This track is really good his flow and lyrics on the awkward instrumental fits right. I'm really feelin this , listen for yourself.

this dude got some lyrical skills metaphors is on point.

This one's for the people
All the bees that'll bleed
And they sleep and they eat, , breathe
I thought we all equal
Ain't a man on the God's green be underneath any other
I dont wanna play preacher
But, but I swear they turn a ear
When we talk about peace and love
Sometimes might need a hug
Yeah we all wanna come on up above
But this ain't about Jesus,
No way, no Abe, no Ike, Moses, or Muhammad
Yeah it's all 'bout believin'
Full steam ahead because I know the worst times are behind me
I don't wanna sound cheesy but, but, but
It's just I really mean it eh, eh
Yeah I'm tellin' I can feel it, eh, eh
It's the reason I don't sleep
I be way too geeked tonight

Thanks, I appreciate it , took off work and my old ass is officially 27 oh and lol when you replied with "it's straight murda" on that hip hop thread. Nigga, I know you're an intelligent individual and a lot of your responses goes over a lot of people's heads and leaves them looking like IGK's hairline, that one might go over a lot of people's heads. :D

This was the only song of his I've heard to this day, I just looked him up online after they premiered that track. I never said he was nice , but he ripped that song grind. I grew up on Nas, biggie ,EPMD, slick rick, D.I.T.C, tribe called quest...u get my point. But you gotta give it up for the white boy, he's got some potential.

I'm not so sure. I mean I guess he has potential, if biting other rappers' styles is potential. He doesn't seem very unique or original at all to me.

Sounds like he's trying really hard to sound like Lupe Fiasco.

Nobody is original. Welcome to art.

I once drove Lupe Fiasco to the mall. He was pretty quiet, but his band talked about how some groupies are in it for the music, and some aren't. :stongue:

The last good hip hop album I've heard was from the roots, you've heard this track, black thought is one of the few real lyricist still living.
