going to NYC. need quick help on bars, rooftop patios and nice restaurants

im going there for the weekend and i know internet searches can only take me so far. so im looking into word of mouth.
im not looking to go all out clubbing because i checked the listings and there isnt much happening this weekend.
but anyway i want to check out really cool bars/lounges or rooftop patios i can get hammered at or enjoy the scenery and views. also would like to check out some nice restaurants. i heard freemans was cool.
being dior homme ive got the shopping down, ive scoped out stores i wanna check out already. but ya anything you know thats good around E 44th St. + 8th ave would be great. |

Well.. you are staying in Hell's Kitchen so there are loads of great restaurants all around you.
Restaurant week was extended to be restaurant month... check opentable.com for restaurants still participating and availability.
As for lounges and rooftops...
Rivington Penthouse is gorgeous. Don't know what type of music they play outside of special events. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city.
Water Taxi Beach - Long Island City has some of the best views in the city. Again, not sure what goes on there on a regular night but it is fun and a little more casual as it is set up like a beach.
I have heard good things about the Hudson Rooftop but haven't been.
Meatpacking district is full of bars and lounges...
Bobby and I don't really do the lounge thing.
Shopping you mentioned you are aware... but thought I should mention that the Barney's Warehouse sale is currently happening and you can find the details on their website. |
