I want to change to using albeton live, after using acid pro for a good number of years.
How easy is it, to get to grips with using albeton live compared to acid pro. Any comments appreciated. Thx

very easy crossover acid pro is a good daw to use with its drag and drop ableton is also very simular give it a week or two and you will be in love with it in no time

They both use the drag and drop mentality. I actually have a friend of mine (hip hop producer) who was a acid pro user for 10+ years, and i turned him onto ableton. He was able to make the switch pretty quickly and hasn't looked back since!

Thx for the comments.
What about working with midi files in albeton live, they still easy to work with? Does it have a piano roll editor interface?

Yes on both counts. Midi files (along with any other compatible audio files) can be simply dragged and dropped into the sequencer from a folder elsewhere on your machine.

Started using Ableton myself last year (to route reason through) and I love it.

It's very no-nonsense, easy to get to grips with and once you familiarise yourself with all the keyboard commands, I found that work-flow can be pretty quick & smooth as well :)

Ableton is perhaps the easiest sequencer to get into, and you will find tutorials for everything on youtube.

I made the switch myself recently, did two tracks on it.. before switching back to Cubase 5, Ableton just isnt as good when it comes to recording, editing and arranging audio and MIDI.
