DO people keep this stuff expecting to use it again? Or is it just cause they feel "better" when they have more files?

I don't know anyone in this modern day who stores porn locally

Is it not possible to shrink the bluerays by converting them? or would that result in noticable quality loss?

What is this xbmc?
Chris Crossland
1TB External
1TB Internal
160GB Internal (laptop)
80GB PS3
17GB Total SD Cards
2GB Mini SD

I'm gonna need more room soon. I got 40GB free on my external and 200GB left on my Internal.

You could convert them but you would get ty quality. You could also compress the file into archives but it's not worth the trouble, and it's much easier just to buy another hard drive

XBMC is basically home entertainment system software :

r5a
10 TB.

movies, music, applications, client backups, my backups

I am fairly certain that it does, but I use ember media manager to get them http://www.embermm.com/projects/embermm

Also you should take a look at this Lifehacker guide, it helped me get the software up and running
