I'm not a dubstep fan at all, but seeing how much effort you've put into this I will grab it. Don't promise to listen to it right away as I have a mix of my own that I have to put together and record in the coming days but I'll get to it eventually. ;)

Adam, i really liked this mix although this is not my type of music, your mixing skills are brilliant! thanks for sharing.

Not something I would usually entertain, but you always do good mixes so I'll give it a listen.

Thanks for the feedback man. I see where you're coming from, for sure, but I guess it's more or less the result of the fact that despite wanting to organize the mix in a certain way, that isn't always possible due to tracks simply not fitting well together. I often have my ideas of how I want the mix to progress, but find them hard to execute because the tracks simply do not blend. That tends to breed alternative ideas that may not be as well constructed as the original, but end up being settled for. That being said, if I had indeed settled for anything when putting this mix together, I was generally quite happy with it. I still think the mix flows very well and while I would say that I actually agree with you on the sections comment, I am actually not averse to that in any way.

i have the same feelings about flow, generally. it's hard to get something really consistent with any kind of music. even though im not a dj, i find with time it becomes easier to flow even with whacked out genres -- dubstep fits here because unless you are mixing the wobble stuff only, the sounds and grooves are too different to fit easily. i'll look out for your future stuff, there's been serious progress since i first heard your sets some long time ago.

Just given this a proper listen (first time my bird was cleaning and the sound of the hoover wasn't doing it any favours!)
Know very little about Dubstep but really enjoyed it, deep, atmospheric and immaculate mixing. Good work.

Thanks for checking it out Samuel, definitely glad you enjoyed it. I don't think one has to like dubstep in order to. Actually when I as playing some like this on the TA radio a few weeks ago, the guys were surprised when I told them I was playing dubstep. I guess people's perception of the genre is really that bad:wtf:

Dipping my toes in for this one.. Loving the dubstep lately!

Grabbing it now, plan on throwing it on tomorrow after I get through the Gold Panda CD.

i don't play or particularly follow dubstep releases, so i can't comment on whether the track selection is "safe" or not, but as someone who enjoys listening to this kind of dubstep i have to say i really enjoyed these tracks. the mixing was also really good, which i imagine isn't so easy to do with this kind of music. looks like re-recording it paid off.

the only thing that stood out negatively is that the sound levels of some tracks you're mixing from/to are noticeably different, but not by much really. it's not necessarily a bad thing because it can work to your advantage sometimes, for example to transition from a lighter more ambient section of the mix to a darker, grittier one with a bang.

also, i'm not too sure whether i liked that long ambient section at the end...perhaps it might have worked better for me somewhere in the middle as a way to transition from light/dark.

good stuff, i'll be checking out your other mixes too. especially the techno/deep house one, as i'm in the process of drafting one myself. hope we didn't pick the same tracks :D

Cheers mate, thanks for checking it out! As for the levels, it has a lot to do with individual levels within each track. So one track may have really loud highs, while another track would have loud mids. It gets kinda hard to adjust, without throwing the overall volumes completely off. Dunno if that makes any sense. Basically the tracks are very different, so you have to sort of settle for a midway point. Happens more with this music than anything else I tend to mix.
