got a lot on my mind lately and just need to relax a lil. how do you guys de-stress, relax, etc?
I'm trying to find alternative ways to boost my mood and stay positive. a lot of people told me to smoke a blunt or do some drugs.. but yeah.. nah im trying to stay away from all that. i think excercise and eating better might help. Any suggestions on herbal supplements or healthy food that increases mood or something along those lines. |

Throw those headphones on or turn up the volume on those speakers and rock out dude.
Keep your head up, you'll make it through. :toocool: |

- Anything that involves physical activity and getting out of your house/apartment
- Drinking a cup of warm tea very slowly and breathing in the aroma
- This will sound weird, but taking a bath |

Grab yourself a six pack of GOOD beer and your fav movie or video game. Shut off the phone, order some pizza and make it a night.
Works for me. |

im TOTALLY against those ppl that think drugs is the answer when theyre stressed or going through some type of in their lifes- seriously, u think smoking a blunt, doing an 8-ball or downing a bottle of xannies/e will make things go away?...yea perhaps, till u become sober again and then what...pick up an addiction bc obviously the problem is still there.
anyways...for me, the trick is music via headphones- isolate myself from the world! nothing makes me more happier then getting in the mood of dancing/partying to some good beats.
- play some sports- handball is my hobby and smacking that ball helps release some stress.
- exercise.
- read a book, accompanied with a bottle of wine, at a park- picnic style.
- talk about whatever is bothering you with a good friend; keeping all this negativity bottled in will drive you insane.
just a few things off the top of my head. now, of course, stress doesnt going away in mins, hrs, day...may take some time so be patient, relax, chillout and most importantly...be happy bc seriously, theres someone out there in a MUCH WORST situation then what you may be. cheers! |

| take a run or go to the gym every day for at least an hour. also try to take some multivitamins if you aren't getting your recommended amount through food. you can also go to the beach and get some sun because vitamin d does well for everything! |

| to relieve stress (not relax), physical activity even just so much as going on a walk definitely helps. however, relaxing requires you to actually sit down and fall below homeostasis. even so much as just laying outdoors will do the trick, or if you're super serious about trying new things, maybe something along the lines of meditation. seriously whatever works for you though. |

| When I still had my car I used to go out and drive around listening to tunes late at night when there's no traffic. |

yeah, i've been stressed the out too. really overwhelmed w/a lot of stuff atm. what's helped the most has been:
gym, as often as possible. especially running, lots of running. after the first 5 miles or so, it's hard to be stressed about anything other than the running itself. By the end it's almost like a huge physical/mental exhale.
playing piano is pretty relaxing. the same probably goes for other instruments.
i suppose 5htp supplements may help boost mood. i hear there are supplements that help boost dopamine as well, but i don't have the $ for all that.
Almost took up free Tai Chi lessons around my neighborhood in the mornings, but it conflicted w/my school/work schedule. |
