| I mean, e.g. if you have 40 CDs and you want to create some sort of database, which shows you track X is on CD Y and so on. I seriously need such a program, any suggestions? |

thats cool but this program then doesnt create a database - for example it wont let you do a search on which cd is the track you need. imagine looking for a particular track and not remembering on which cd you have it - youll need browsing trough all you cd collection to find it:( |

It saves the file into a .txt or a .html file. then if you want to know what CD an album is on, just search for the name on the list. this is My main list of my 26 or so mp3 cds:

So all you do is open the .txt file, hit ctrl+f, then type in the album name you want and boom, it goes right to it.
The other programs prolly do databases more with more options and such but this program I find to be the easiest, most simple program to use. It literally takes 1 minute to make up a database. |

| Oh I read your question wrong. No it does not have the capability to search for tracks as it only recognizes folders |
|
|
| RenderedDream |
i use whereist
well this is a CD catalog software and the only flaw i encountered is that i can't manage to print a list of selected files i want |

I use the Windows XP Explorer. You can sort them all by name, size, duration, modified (important so you can list newest first), etc.
I've also used MPEG Audio Collection you can get from www.download.com.
I don't like having to refresh though to load my new mp3's. Windows Explorer does it automatically. |

| CygnusX |
I keep a Winamp Generated Playlist of every cd in a directory and when I need something I just search for the trackname in the html-files.
No other software needed :D |
