wondering how people start there intros, Volume wise???

Ive been aiming my mix down at -3db and at the main part of the tracks, when everythings playing, it sounds great...but my intros i sometimes start with hardly any sounds there...but im finding that to get the intro to -3db im having to increase the volume of the samples, vst's etc, which are playing at the intro, pretty high up and it sometimes sound unnatural!!!

im saying this becuase when i import a track ive purchased, lets say 'BK London Rocks' his whole track is at 0db...Even the intro when theres hardly anything playing there.

i could name loads more tracks like this and i was just wondering what other people do with the intros...or outros for that matter.

Ive took my tracks to a studio and the master has said the levels are fine and theres no muddy etc...but after hes mastered them the intros are still not reaching -0db!!!

so any tips ppl???

thanks

maybe you're striping too much for the intro or maybe your kick is too buried and by itself it's not enough? too many variables, show us you're track and the one you're a/b'ing it against from start to finish
