I'm sure there're a lot of talented producers in here critisizing the direction modern trance has taken, yet willing to be heard. With that in mind, I've thought 'Can we, producers of tranceaddict.com, produce our own, old-school-oriented trance and, if successful, compile it in a one beautiful cd afterwards. Let's bring trance to life! Who's with me? |

IT needs a new direction, not a re-fabrication of old ideals. |

New direction will consist of farty basslines and deadmaus alike chords again, and thats what we all hate in modern trance, do we? |

Its a nice idea in theory but in practice it won't work.
By trying to emulate a specific style of trance, your tracks will lack the creativity and spontaneity that made those old tracks so special. |

i believe trance needs more advanced rhytm patterns.
4x4 kick is nice but the rest could certainly improve. |

In a club the 'wall o sound' you get with trance can be too much.
There will always be decent trance like music released and consumed but you now with so many people at it, originality is key.
Rolling bass can sound uber generic - one reason a lot of producers have moved on in trying to explore new bass patterns with purists dislike. |
