Music Festival's in NYC..keyword IN

Now I've read mixed reviews about Electric Zoo and know many people who attended. Some well partied peoples and some new to the scene, that in which had it's own imbalance of opinions. New comers who hated it, over-partied addicts who loved it. We can and always have argued or debated over opinion, so instead of cluttering a review thread, I decided:
GET NYCE SHOULD MAKE A BRAND NEW THREAD!
Now I've never been to an 'electric zoo' party, but there are a few things that irk me...cmon electric zoo? corny ass name for a new york based 'music festival', we really needed the festival name to be something trendy that gives it a good image, not a zoo full of drug induced animals. Cmon Son! Inception would have been a better festival name.
Next, when will we learn that Randall's Island isn't a party 'IN' NYC, yet every summer the Great Lawn gets shut down for concerts and symphonicwinedrinkingcheesebags. Music Festival 'in' NYC isn't happening, we should really do it like Brooklyn does, throw a block party with DJs and lasers.
Finally, all those acts play like 1hr sets, is this a 'amateur dj hour everyone gets a slot' type of festival? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to book 4 DJs per 'area' who play 3-4hrs each. I mean it, just do an allstar line up, like Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, and PVD @ Main Stage, then the true colors will show who is the number 1 dj.

| Electric Zoo should be held in Central Park. Not only is it bigger, but transportation-wise it's a million times easier to get to than Randall's Island. It would draw more people there for sure. |

That will never happen. You can't expect the city to allow 50,000 people butcher the grass like in Randall's Island, reparing the field would require too much maintenance |

what exactly do you mean? triple rainbow? quadruple rainbow?
I mean Tiesto's gotta cost the amount of Axwell, ATB, and Benny Bennassi all together. Ferry and chemical brothers could wash in price. PVD will replace everyone in Redbull Arena for both days, and Armin well Armin you could just not invite Moby and then what do you have, Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, and PVD all in the same event, and a bunch of time slots freed up so they could spin more then 1hr.
Can you imagine a Phazon Tent, Richie, Sven, Cox, S&D, Victor, and hell bring Junior to the party anyways. |

Do any of you honestly see this event being at Randall's Island forever? EZ on it's second year and it's already outgrowing that location. Not to mention the rampant problems people are having with dust issues there, crappy transporation, etc.
I see EZ moving to another location in the next 2-3 years. |

the party was a great no matter what a few cry babies had to say in the review threads

have you heard tiesto recently? i mean if you like his new sound then yea thats great but he is predictable and plays the same recycled/his own productions out in every set, so what will that leave you with? a boring set
armin is kinda the same way plays a very predicatble set...i said to one of my friends i bet he closes out with in and out of love, i didnt even go see armin and i found out later that he did infact close out with it again his sets are predicable and nothing new and fresh
ferry last year played a producers set, i love ferry but i just hate when he whores out his for hours
pvd i seen once this year at wmc and he rocked, but i never seen him at a festival so i couldnt tell you on how he would be
so what does that leave you with? 3 djs who will come and play boring predictable sets and maybe one guy who keeps it real? and yet you think that will be better then ez? :haha: :haha:
then you go from blasting all those "amature dj's who play 1 hour sets" to now wanting a phazon tent with cox,s&d,hawtin etc etc
i honestly dont know where your tryin to go with this so called festival of yours but i dont see your logic
maybe you should meetup with osterzone and pitch your idea to mayor bloomberg and the parks officals |
