Such a sweet little jam.
Didn't know what the weather would be like down there but it wasn't windy at all and some sunshine even broke through.
Mike was on when I arrived, fun tunes especially the "Percolator" one. Crowd was a bit smaller than usual but as always more people trickled in once the sun went down. Jason Hodges is always a treat to see. Rich did things on an eclectic tip and Joel was the star of the night for me with his perfectly bumping, bouncey beats that had everyone dancing and hip-wiggling. Then Bill wrapped things off in that trademark fun style of his.
All in all, a fun evening/night out with some good friends. This more than made up for not going out to a bigger party, in fact, I actually preferred it (omg, am I slowing down? :p)
A big thank you to the Bounce and Preacherman crews for all their work in putting these parties on, they've been a highlight of my summer. |

I had a blast too!!! Danced my ass of 6pm - 11pm straight. That was all fueled by amazing beats (Gleeson won it for me), and of course a dozen Kronenburg Blancs ;)
Jason Hodges was fab tho. Solid bumpitude from start to finish. I think he really got the crowd going, and of course Rich Hope built upon that vibe.
The weather was unusual, but hey, it didnt rain. I loved how the clouds broke as the sun was going down. It was at this point that Mike Gleeson dropped "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. Fuk....what versatile dj Mike is.
Cheeers to the end of the summer. I thought this event was perfect! |

Everyone was drinking those wtf!!!! lol
I got there just before sundown... ran into Dallas and Adrian, met some new people, then over to Geoffb3, The Ear and Intangible, then cought up with my long time friend Preacherman.
It was a great close of the summer. Preacherman and I looked at the event as if it was the last episode of Cheers. Good times, never to be forgotten. |

I ing hate it when people post 'Oh I was going to go to this party, but...' like the party was missing that elusive element that is you for it to go off. So all I'm going to say is that I checked these guys out at Blondie's for their regular monthly in August and had a good time. This crew are a friendly lot and although they weren't able to deliver a big turnout that particular night everyone there had a great time and the music was on point. I loved it when whoever it was dropped that live mix - at least I think it was a live mix - of 'Billie Jean' and I found my inner Michael Jackson. I've waited more than a decade to hear that song at a house jam and it was sheer bliss. Definitely looking forward to more good times at Blondie's, if only to see Eva behind the bar again - no one does the hot shorts and heels look like you do - and get down to some funky and deep house in such an intimate setting. Cheers guys.
BTW, I think teacher is one of the most popular occupations among househeads. I've met four in the last month. What gives? |

Great times! No surprise that Gleeson had the set of the day for me. I stayed from 4:30 to 11 & had to roll on to the next place where some buddies were giging. Great seeing everyone I did.
Can't wait for the next proper Bounce party. Guys don't ever stsop doing what you're doing. |

Gleeson's set was top notch as was Jason Hodges.
Looking forward to more gleeson parties this winter :) |

Why does Rich not play more often than he does! He did it for me. Refreshing to say the least.
Bouncy, happy, proper house party programming. I loved it.
Whoever has Rich's set recorded, post that up asap! It was a keeper. |

Thanks guys!
We put alot of effort into these events and the best reward is seeing and hearing people having/had a good time!
Personally i wasn't that crazy about my set, but i have to say i really enjoyed everyone else's for sure. I think i liked Joel's the best, but then in recent times i haven't heard him as often as I have everyone else. Speaking of which...

Rich does play out a fair bit, but sometimes doing some of the more slomo disco stuff and other events that are maybe a lil off the beaten path. That said, we're going to have him in to play at our next Blondie's night - Oct 15 - which will have a 90s house theme, so look out for that! And....

We have the entire day recorded, so as soon as that can be cut up and uploaded, we'll have it for you!
And just a quick plug for the house lovers in the... err... 'house', Irgo and I are playing along with Coleridge with deep house don extraordinaire Jimpster, at Footwork this saturday.
If you like deep, groovy, thudding house, saturday is for you! |
