I've never used one, but I've heard both good and bad stories, just like any other method of finding dates.
It's funny, too... most of the people that I've known who have used a site like that actually have no trouble meeting people, and have a lot to offer (as opposed to what I'd expect to be the stereotype). One good (female) friend of mine tried eHarmony (my girlfriend's best friend). Mind you, this girl is is very sociable, very nice, very fun to be around and smoking hot gorgeous. She has absolutely no trouble meeting people, but for whatever reason, tried out this site. She met a guy there and became very involved in a relationship with him. Turned out he was a complete dick and she ended up in one of those controlling relationships where he basically ended up running her life for a while.
At the same time, my little brother has met some really good people using the free ones. Nothing is ever certain in the dating world, and this is no exception. |
