Basel I think is his real name. 'Basel' means 'annoying' in the Moroccan dialect.
And Bas' last name means 'strange' or 'weird' in Arabic.

You have the most interesting name in the C0r, Bas.

Annoying and strange/weird :stongue: Awesome.

It means both 'enough' and 'but', depending on the context. Ask any Arab.

guessing it's the equivalent of "basta" in spanish? basta is translated to "enough," but for the sake of this thread, we can also translate it to bastard, just for fun.

I think bas is more pronounced like ass ????

stupid black people

bas
I feel like this thread/discussion happens all the time.

Firstly my name is spelled Bassel, which means courageous/lionhearted...suckas

Secondly, it's pronounced "beh-sell" but growing up no one could ever get that right. Because people are stupid it was always pronounced "ba-zel", or basil (both as the herb and the English name).

One of my best friends in high school dropped the "el" and just started calling me "baz"...I leave it Bas because there's no z in my name. I'm sure that causes a lot of confusion among some more worldly people being that Bas is actually a Dutch (I think?) name that's usually pronounced "boz".

It's definitely not like bass, bass, base, or boss.

So technically, I should be calling you Bess if I want to shorten your name. That feels kind of gay though.
