Hi all,

i'm new to the board and was wondering if I could get some advice on buying s studio desk...

I'm new to production and dont have much equipment. The space I work in is also limited. Ideally Im looking for a corner workstation/desk as this will utilise what space I do have. The desk will also have to leave enough room for 2 cdj 1000s and my A+H mixer. At the monment production equipment includes a apple macbook, axion 49 midi controller, audio 8dj interface and two JBL monitors(which Im going to buy stands for)

I'm looking for something along the lines of below. But this is glass and I imagine not great for production..

Ive been to look at a few hardware retailers but not found anything to suit. I have considered building one from scratch but not sure how suitable this would be..

Any advice would be great

thanks

theres some good cheap choises on ikea if u dont care how it looks. im searching for a desk myself but as its gonna stay in my livingroom it should look good too so i have no luck finding anything yet. i started a thread some time ago about it, you could search for it and see what people suggested then/there (or whatevers right to say).

Thanks for the reply..

I have a big Ikea store near by and have been to have a look. Was thinking of getting a couple of smaller desks and building the corner unit that way. Good suggestion on that thread you started to about making a smaller desk for the keyboard... Would save space...

Check your speaker configuration (Sound control panel, Playback tab)

Select Speakers and then click the properties button to show which jacks are active. Close the properties window and click Configure button to make sure you have the correct speaker configuration set (4 speaker should be quadraphonic?)

This assumes a Windows 7 system - which seems like a safe bet on a new Dell.
