I have been waiting a few years to hear this kind of music in Montreal. It may have done before but I was not aware of it. Thomas and Substance & Vainqueur dropped the definition of Berlin Dub Techno. Deep chords, filled with warm reverberated soundscapes that make you feel like your travelling in space somewhere. I always had a fear that Dub techno was the type of music you listen to at home and not work in a club. Holy was I ever wrong! If only they would have played on a decent soundsystem. Even though I loved the music, I think everyone would have gotten a chance to appreciate it more on a better soundsystem. Glad to see a few friendly faces, you all know who you are ;) |

To be honest I didn't even realize the orchestra was playing with Thomas and I wasnt even that drunk. Once Thomas started his solo liveset thats when the night took off. Anything before that was meh for me. Mekroon pointed out to me that the first orchestra half of the night was catering for the elite crowd. Unfortunately a lot of people there like me would have liked to hear some stuff they know. This really killed any chance of me ever going to another orchestra. |
