WTF? He is like retarded?

With French house superstar David Guetta making it fashionable for pop stars to jack some club cred and even Rusko taking dubstep to Britney Spears’ front door it was only a matter of time until other dance sub genres took notice and made moves towards some mainstream crossovers . And according to the one and only Armin van Buuren that time has come for the trance scene. (*gulp*)

Having already courted former Ms. Groovejet herself, Sophie Ellis-Bextor for his latest LP, Mirage, Armin reckons that trance is making some gradual moves towards the spotlight of the mainstream, and who knows what will follow.

“Guetta’s success proves we were right,” the Armin Only maestro told The Herald Sun in a particularly amusing interview where the paper described his sound as ‘techno’. “Hip-hop hasn’t jumped on trance yet. But it raises the possibility of corporate sponsorship. If you want to do something big in America, you need money. Corporate sponsorship is available for hip-hop because it’s so popular. So, a crossover may open the doors for trance.”

That’s a big call, but Armin has big expectations for a future trance boom offering that “if you’re open minded it will happen. I’m sure we’ll see Snoop Dogg and Sander Van Doorn very soon. It will be an interesting time.’’

It's already been done.

It will go over like P Diddy in Ibiza.

And Mr. Mystery is right of course- it's already been done a hundred ways before, in years past. A great deal of modern hip-hop is derivative of rave music in the first place, and has been for some time now. I foresee abyssmal crossovers from the Armin camp that end up blowing up in his face because they're so ing mishandled- and then he'll simply chalk it off to the notion that other people just weren't ready to be open-minded enough. In actuality, the fusion of genres has largely always been up to new producers and acts, and people like Armin are obviously old ing news.

You know what happens when they tried to mix classical with some fast moving beats , along with some JP8000s?

They got this.

And what will happen if they try to mix that with rap?

I don't know , honestly.

Rap is the pinnacle of lyric. Trance is mastery of melody. Together, a synergy of hard truth, forged in the fires of real world credibility and fantasy wrapped in blankets of ethereal clouds and synth. It is coming. You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet. - Kafka

Well if you knew, I don't think it'd be particularly smart of you to share until you had an actual product. :p

Alot of people are forgetting about a group that brings rap & trance/electronic together...Faithless, although people like snoop dogg would be a commercial curse on trance, you have to make an exception for rappers like Maxi Jazz for bring tracks like Insomnia, God is a DJ, Not Going Home, Salva Mea etc to life
Rodri Santos
Tiesto & Three 6 mafia.... one of the worst tracks this year. I can't see gangster vocals on a trance track... and he is so stupid and inocent if he thinks that with just one track will get more gigs in the US. I can't see neither a rap gang in a trance festival lol.
