AN21 actually impressed me. As much as I hate to give the kid credit, he put on a good show prior to SHM and also at Vanity. He was playing at Vanity when we got there at 415?
IMO it was kinda weaksauce. AN21 played some of the same tracks he played earlier, and Steve Angello did the same :rolleyes: So we left around 6am because it was pretty repetitive. Tiesto played some cheese as usual.
Did anyone record Tiesto's MCing at Vanity?? I would PAY to see that again!!!

as far as my review:
AN21 opened up until around 1:30 - played some great tracks and really set it up well.
the big screen thingy dropped right after that. the rest is history.
i know eeeveryone loves these guys and that they're everywhere and blah blah. but it's for a reason: they throw the best party. i can't think of any DJs right now (trance, house, etc) that can tear a place up at like that.
i've seen them live a few times throughout the year, and was pleasantly surprised that a big portion of their set was tracks i've never heard before (in particular that boy george track - MASSIVE).
the DJ booth was WAY too high. it was a photographer's wet dream to have SHM + tiesto + dirty south up there and it was impossible to get a good shot. any decent shot is just of their heads. i know they wanted that nice big screen underneath the booth, but it honestly could have been 1/3 the size.
the joint is an amazing venue and it was RAMMED. loved the screens on the corners, and the production was brilliant. you could literally feel the heat from all the flames. LAZ0RZ was obviously a huge win.
there wasn't a dull moment. i was dancing my ass off the ENTIRE time. for every two tracks they played that you didn't know, they mixed it with up 2 tracks everyone loved. upset they didn't play how soon is now, but can't win them all.
the after party at vanity was great. tiesto and ingrosso walked by me while i was waiting in line to get in. tried to get a hug off but that wasn't happening lol.
i went with a bunch of friends (some big EDM fans, some just to be in vegas) and they all had the time of their lives.
at the end of the day, going out to shows is about having a great time and enjoying it with friends, and no one has provided that as much as the swedes.
i live on the east coat, so ingrosso and axwell are coming for individual shows this month. MWUAHAHAH!
