I'm starting to get real into trance/dj'ing and I've toyed with some of my friends' equipment and now am looking to get my own. I've got Cubase 5, but do any of you have any suggestions on any of these?

-Sequencer (I'm currently looking at a MicroKorg)
-Mixer (CD/Ipod(what do you prefer?) anything under 400/450$)
-PA system (under 300$, simpler the better, I'm hopin to gig at parties on campus)
-Headphones
-Any other equipment that you would deem "necessary?"

All together...I'd like my total cost to be under 1,000, but a little over wouldn't be too much of a problem

I'm pretty sure this thread has been asked / answered numerous times, but i'll just throw in my two cents.
1. Don't buy cheap gear. It's cheap for a reason
2. Goes along with the above, but since it looks like you're scraping for cash, I would skip out on buying studio monitors or speakers at the start. I used to live in an apartment complex so I never got time to practice at night after work due to noise complaints. Get a good pair of headphones, and then just practice with only headphones at first and use the money that you saved to buy better gear
