Ripping live streams

| Does anyone know of a program that can rip a live stream on a timer record? As I come from the land otherwise known as Oz, most banging sets that are streamed live on the net are on in the middle of the day when I'm at work, so I can't record the bastards! Is there a program where I can set a location and a time and it will start ripping at the time I set? Then I can set something up in the morning, go to work, then come home to a brand new set just waiting for me at home! |

Use Total Recorder but it has some drawbacks....
1)You have to buy it cause it only records for 30 sec.
2)You can't time it
3)Need a big Harddisk(that's a general Problem tho) :) ;)
4)Don't forget to uninstall it when you are finished becasue it screws up your music programs and you sound cards latency..
I've used Total Recorder 2 years ago...there may be a better version??you can have a try...

totalrecorder:
1) you CAN time it. just write when it should start, and it starts then and stops when you want it to stop.
2) you DO NOT need a large hd, as it converts the file DIRECTLY to *.mp3 if you HAVE an encoder installed
3) yes, you do need to buy if you want to record more than 30 sec at the time (those who dont, fix this problem in other ways:):):):))
4) it DOES NOT screw up your soundsettings. you can easily choose if which drivers to use.. |

You can get a plugin for winamp called StreamRipper. Just goto www.winamp.com and search for a plugin call StreamRipper. Follow the instructions carefully to install it. Just play the livestream in winamp and enable the streamripper. Its fast and easy.
There is also a stand alone program called stream ripper. I'm not totally sure, but i think it lets you rip multiple streams at once and you dont even have to be listening to them. I don't know where to get it but you can probably find it at www.download.com . |

| If you got soundblaster live Sound card, you can download the software from www.creative.com, and use the RECORDER, and choose the option RECORD WHAT YOU HEAR, there is no quality loss, but make sure you shut off any other programs and windows schemes when recording, cause it will record IM beeps and bleeps ;) |
