I remember reading an SHM interview in Mixmag a while ago in which they said they wished they could make a track that emulated Guetta's success with 'I Gotta Feeling', so this documentary doesn't really come as a surprise. Money talks at the end of the day.

That track, however, is a prime example of making maximum profit with minimum effort.

That track is far from minimum effort. If I'd come up with something so instantly accesible to the masses and with as much drive and imagination I'd be a hoot I tell ya.

What a ing scream :haha:

a typical Swedish House Mafia DJ set involves little more than three pot-bellied men punching the air to an electro-house version of Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics.

quote:
"You wanna party?" inquires Axwell optimistically of every single female he encounters, while Ingrosso rocks up to one venue and declares, with no apparent irony, "I'm going to this nightclub in the " :wtf:

The readers coments are worth a look aswell, some bitchin going on..

No. Actually, you know what, you as well.

Come on, turn off Daddy's computer, save your Fruity Loops choon for tomorrow and get your jim jams on.

You can't put him even in the same league as SHM - He doesn't talk absolute drivel or produce cringe worthy cheesehouse in the hopes of making a record as "great" as Guetta one day.

I do however like the fact he wears white eyeliner whenever there's a photoshoot (Look closely, you'll see it).

Are we talking about same PvD that produced "white lies"? Just making sure... ;)
Fledz
Oooooh, that's a bit rough man. As as White Lies was, you can't really have a go at PVD when you look at his entire career.

Got to love the Guardian! Journalists who know nothing about the genres they are writing about.
I remember their review of the new (terrible) Underworld album. It started like this, 'Underworld, continuing their long history of collaboration......'

WHAT???!!!!

Better journalism than 99% of the tripe filled tabloids polluting the rest of the UK. And let's be honest here, they hit the nail bang on the head with this about the SHM. Good luck to the daily mail or the sun getting anything right. I think the last time the sun did something on EDM, they "quoted" Judge Jules as getting $100,000 per night. Even he told them to them off in a later interview with DJ mag.

The finniest thing about this documentary is THEY actually commissioned and had editorial control over the the documentary :wtf: They don't even realize how stupid they look.

If only their manager had the smarts to blag that it was a contemporary take on spinal tap before they released it - they *might* have got away with it.

Our mixer channel goes to 11............

I must be honest I didn't read the article, I assumed it was bad so thats egg on my face. I'll have a read now.

Try to find that Underworld one though, its funny. It was largely plagiarised too so you will find it in other places.
