USB 3 External Hard Drives Have Arrived......

So these are allegedly "optimized for audio and video streaming" and if the benchmarks are anything to go by they absolutely whoop both USB 2 and FW.......

I've still got a bunch of space left on my 1TB external but the next one I buy will be USB3.0 since my motherboard supports that and SATA6G as well :D
However, it really should be an SSD. Regular HDDs apparently can't take full advantage of the speed. |

Nope, indeed they can't - and I'm getting pretty damn close to shoving an SSD in my imac. Even though my imac can't make full use of it, and it's a mission to do it, apparently the speed increases are staggering.
The price of them are beginning to drop too :D |

I think these have been out for a while now actually. Saw something like this at the beginning of this year some time.
The futures pretty bright for crazy streaming speeds though, exciting indeed. |
