I was just thinking of that...I'm a dutch TA, and Tiesto played Zombie Nation @ the FFWD dance parade in Rotterdam in 2000, but he made a very f*ckin good mix of it, so everybody was just going wild..untill the truck hit a bump, and there was nothing but silence...but then everybody applaused, so they were pleased even then!!
So if you play Zombie nation in a cool way, there's nothing wrong with it, and in the right time and place; Tiesto played it 2 years ago, and Dumonde did it not a long time ago, I guess..ans it's not that Zombie nation is a classic, on the contrary, it's a commercial song!! so that everybody stopped dancing and thinks :wtf:...I can understand... |

well they semi made up for it with the other stuff they span, as zombie nation was the only "odd" tune in that set |
Agreed, I thought it was a wicked set. |

| Which mix of it did they drop? If it was the Dave Clarke or Miss Kittin & The Hacker Mixes then they’re let off ;) |

note the year.. 2002
it was around in 2000 a lot, lots of people were playing it, it was cool until it got played everywhere (i.e in the chart so on the radio evry 5 minutes & tv etc) which always spoils a tune. it just annoyed the out of everyone which is why no-one has played it for ages.
but yes they were wicked up until that point.. :)
so, the answer to all this is
ZOMBIE IN NATION????!??!?!?!?!?! |

werd Jeff is totally right it wasn't a bad track at all, but Its been on the top of pops been played on radio 1 in daytime about 100 times a day, and used on TV, Oakenfold cained the record at Creamfields one year and that was it everyone was wiping the floor with the track, it made itself commercialised, by getting played on terraces at football matches.
I was horrfied when it was played I suddenely stopped dancing, and remember Nita said its ing Zombie Nation I can't believe their playing Zombie nation, Jeff, Fray, Neo and Tim and a few others just said right time to see Digweed and cleared the tent in no time once the track came on, I think all the TAs froze on the spot when that track came on, it was shocking, Nita looked like she'd seen a ghost, a couple of other TAs were shocked aswell, I know I was shocked too.
Apart from that Dumonde played a very good set. |

| well, it is a gay tune, but it got the crowd singing just like punk does. in 2 years time, if someone drops punk, they will get the same treatment. do do do de do do, do do do de de de do de, de do de do, lmao. nevermind, apart from that dumonde were the best djs of the nite imo. |

I'm sorry but I can't see what the problem is. Yeah it's a real commercial tune, and it may not be 'cool' but if I like a song I listen to it, I don't give a if everyone else thinks it's total e, if I like it, I'll listen to it. They obviously like it if they played it, most probably put it in there for shock value anyway, so whats the problem, it's just a bit of fun. I thought you guys had independant thought's and weren't hung up on stigma's, but the way you lot are all going on, maybe not
I'm not having a go at anyone, just voicing my opinion. I'll shut up now :D |

First time I heard Zombie Nation was at Love Parade 2000 @ Leeds. When it was new etc. It was a wicked tune.
Altho it got commercialised, I feel that it still holds a place in most peoples hearts.
Altho IAn (redeye) told me that they play it in breaks at American football,(which made me think WTF?!) I didn't particularly mind it in the set.
I'd even heard it at Devil Mania when I went to Germany for LP 2oo2! It must be getting re-released if everyone is playing it again... ;) |

point proved.. we didnt like it and they made us listen to it hehehe its a well known fact that UK clubbing crowds despise cheezy chart stuff..
i dont understand dumonde.. they can play the most amazing sets, but then they sometimes totally ruin it with a ty song that nobody likes.
see gatecrasher.. dumonde thought it was ok to play alice deejay because its a dumonde remix.. sorry guys, alice deejay is alice deejay no matter who the damn remixer is.. |
