Just bought tickets to UMF 2011. Question to those that have been or who live in Miami -- should I be looking to get a hotel in Miami Beach or Downtown? Basically I'm trying to figure out:
** Where are the best after-parties that don't involve velvet ropes and bottle service?
** Will the cab situation be crazy enough that I'll have to walk to whatever after-party I decide to go to?

if you're only coming for ultra then stay in downtown. if you're going to party all week long stay on the beach. theres more to do on the beach, plus its nicer, better places to eat, and of course the beach is there. lol. although the beach is pretty pricey.
best afterparties is something you're going to have to decide yourself based on what you wanna hear. i would revisit that idea in a few weeks when many more parties are announced.
if you stay in downtown you can probably walk to your parties but a cab isnt a bad idea either. after ultra good luck finding a cab, leaving an hour or even 30 mins before it ends is always a wise decision if you have other things planned. any other day during the week cabbing it usually isnt a problem at all. cab runs about $20 between downtown and south beach. |

| armin is really dropping the ball on 500 releasing all sorts of info so late there is no real line up we already knew about ferry from phase1 and in my eyes he shouldnt even be part of asot 500 because he was on ultras phase1 and he should do his own thing so armin could bring in a new different dj but asot 500 miami is prolly gonna suck compared to all the others |

Ultra is probably telling Armin when to release info. I am still waiting for phase 2, its been over a month since phase 1.
I doubt they are going to allow it to suck, they are going to have tons of interest in ASOT 500 combined with the other acts on Sunday Ultra.
I feel confident both will not disappoint. |
