Outdoor party: keeping dew off equipment

Hey guys I'm holding an outdoor party and was wondering how to keep dew/moisture off my gear during the night. I was thinking of maybe placing a couple of small portable heaters on the table that the decks are on so that the hot air could blow over all the gear. The only issue is that we're powering everything via generators and small heaters might be a huge drain on the power.
Any ideas? Anyone done this before?

| flightcase? if you have some lightning above you that will generate heat enought to avoid that and slightly covering the equipment will do the rest. |

Small heaters will definitely pull quite a bit of current which might not matter if you've got enough coming out of those genny's but to be honest I'm not sure how bad it'll get. Often the heat generated by the pieces of equipment are enough to keep the dew at bay.
So if i had to sugget anything i'd say leave it on until you're packing it away. Once you've stopped using any of the equipment put it away. Be it in a car or somewhere else safe away from the moisture in the air. |

| ive DJ'd outdoors at night before....it did start gettin a little moist especially cuz i was in someones yard where they have grass. My equipment started to get a little sticky. I would say....that if actual water droplets start forming to try to soak it with some napkins or something similar before it starts to leak into the holes of your equipment |

Basically this the best way to deal with moisture. As N3lly pointed out heaters do pull a lot of power depending on its size. The heat generated by the equipment is pretty good at evaporating the moisture. Another thing I like to do, when my gear is idle (not actually djing at the moment), I'll throw a towel, or visqueen over the coffin. Amps, lights I'm not concerned with because those things are big heat banks already. Now if my gear is gonna sit out overnight, I'll visqueen it then tarp it, and tie down the tarp with rope to keep the tarps from blowing off. |

thanks for the responses guys
It gets really cold at night in Australia during summer (this party will be in late February) so I'm not sure how much of an effect the heat of each unit will do to evaporate the moisture. The napkin idea is good, I guess it just requires people to cosntantly be wiping the moisture off.
What about a fan? ie. just a regular fan that doesn't heat but blows air over the gear. I don't think it would be a big drain on power. |
