i just recently started with learning music theory and all..most of the time im just messing around with my keyboard and not following the rules....being a total noob, so with that being said.. what do you guys think of this ? and would it fit as a trance lead?
btw..this is just a simple pluck dont worry about it, ill most likely change it, when i go into make the track.
My personal opinion is that the goodness of an element of a song is dependent on the other elements. I can't judge the melody based on itself unless the melody is the whole song itself. It sounds like you're going for a mau5 hau5 influenced sound though, if that's what you're going for, then the melody needs to be layred with another synth that will fill in the bottom oomph my ears need if that is what you are going for.
But keep this thread updated, will try to give you feedback. :D

Some good rudiment, but the changes are way too crude to really work for me.

Who cares if it fits as a trance lead? Don't try and target a certain genre, selecting or scrapping certain sounds/melodies based on how appropriate they are for that genre.
Do YOU like that melody? Does it give you a slight buzz when you hear it? If yes, then carry on with it and build the track around it. Whatever genre it ends up being is irrelevant.

and i agree fsp..jus trynna get some opinions..on my melody making abilities..and see where and how i can make some changed to make it better..

The first four bars is good, then it goes all saturday morning children's special. I really wouldn't use that as a main lead in any case, but as a secondary riff it'd be OK.
