Good sharing site for collaborating

Hi all
Im doing a collab with a friend and I was wonder what other musicians have used or know of a site that is good for sharing the file itself and all audio contents etc.

| I use Dropbox. Very handy. We also have a chat file for discussing different changes to the track and other random talk. |

I use Dropbox as well, but is there a way to share the audio and the project files on there too? Like an FTP of sorts? |

| yeah see that's what i'm after as well. I would like to run a project from say drop box where all the audio is on dropbox etc. can it do this? |

Yes me and a friend do this quite often and it works no problems usually. You just have to share everything related to the project with the other. Dropbox your entire project folder, not just the project file itself if that makes sense. |

Me and a friend of mine who lives in Cali want to do a collab, but have no idea where to start. I tried to start something, but every time I start something I wind up finishing it.
What makes it even more difficult is the fact that I use FL studio and he uses Ableton, so we cant exactly exchange FLP files. I know you can send the wave files but what if he decides he wants to change the melody around or the bassline? I'd love to do a collab with him but I just feel mindless when it comes to starting one and working with something else. |

| I also use dropbox but was 1st purely as online storage. After realised its potential, its a great tool for the reasons people have already mentioned and I know many musicians/producers use this to share files. |

love love love dropbox, it shows up as a folder on my macbook pro, then that same folder is available on my studio pc then that same folder is available on my android app, it's so cross platform it hurts. if dropbox was a girl i'd be all over it, with all my platforms, at one time.
anywho this comes from a guy who had a pro mediafire account(actually still do), a pro sendspace account and a pro yousendit account (every year i was trying something different). now i've settled on a pro dropbox account with some public folders for some clients, some for muscian friends and some just for myself (I LOVE that on my computer i can right click on a file and get "public link" and just throw it in an email or IM). I think pro dropbox ( i ran out of the 2gig space) + pro soundcloud is all i'll need for a while. really happy with dropbox, did i mention that already? |

Lol. Indeed the public link feature is awesome and the fact the dropbpx folder can be any folder anywhere on your pc. |

| me and my mates have set up a online website its free and only we can use it this meens we can share track ideas/parts ect when ever we like just add people if and when you want to :p |
