I think the Yankees are done.
Game 1 they barely squeaked by. Game 2 Texas shut them down. Game 3, tonight, they bend over to Cliff Lee.
Now I know the 8-0 score isn't as bad as it looks, considering Texas' rally was in the ninth inning and the Yankees held them off the scoreboard for the previous seven innings after that Hamilton 2-run homer.
But the real problem is that the Yankees can't ing hit anymore. The ENTIRE team is in a slump. Texiera has been hitless this series. The same thing happened in the 2007 ALDS against Cleveland...the entire team was in a slump (besides Matsui) and they never got out of it.
Another problem with the Yankees is that they incapable of scoring any runs during the first five innings of any postseason game. Outside of the Game 3 victory against Minnesota in the ALDS, every game the Yankees have played this postseason they've had to come from behind. Watch it happen tomorrow too...Texas will sit on like a 3-0 lead while the Yankees wait until the 6th inning to even think about putting a rally together.
Now if the Yankees take both games tomorrow and Wednesday, they only have to split back in Texas to win the series. But what's probably going to happen is that they'll split the next two games in Yankee Stadium and head back to Texas down 3-2, which isn't winnable IMO. |

exactly...the yankee's havent gotten anything going early in the game at all
thye wait till the later innings to get a rally or something
they are putting no pressure on texas
with aj on the mound tonight iam not feeling very good it
between his pitching and the yankee's not hitting
is not looking good
imo aj must not give up more than 3 runs all game
and the yankees must break the bats out early and get something going to put pressure on texas |

yankee faithful, we live and die with our pinstripes on
don't give up, who knows what's going to happen. AJ could roll up to the stadium tonight missing all his front teeth and throw a gem
the bronx lays dormant, when woken up could be a hell of a tide turner
i still believe
yankees all damn day til the grave i stay bleeding blue in decay |

| Texas's pitching is now where near as deep as Lee pitched today. Yankees got this on lock down. |

Why did Girardi tell Burnett to intentionally walk that last guy to set up Molina for his 3-run homer?
Did he not see that Burnett was really struggling the past couple innings when he had two outs? You keep as many guys off the bases as possible with him- bad coaching choice. I knew when he was doing the walk that this probably won't end well, and look what happened... |
